It’s unlikely that you’ll pick up a newspaper on any given day without it featuring an article about climate change.  But, what exactly is climate change and why is it such a problem?

Well, greenhouse gases such as CO2 exist in our atmosphere to help trap heat from the sun, therefore allowing the earth to retain its temperature and sustain life as we know it.  However, as we continue to release more and more greenhouse gases by burning fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas, we are actually trapping too much heat in the atmosphere.  As a result of this and the continual destruction of the world’s forests which absorb CO2, the earth is currently warming faster than at any time in the past 10,000 years.

Road vehicles, due to their historic reliance upon fossil fuels, are a major contributor to this issue, being responsible for some 22% of all UK CO2 emissions.  It is for this reason ecofleet exists to help drivers reduce and offset their CO2 emissions and accelerate the move to alternative fuels that do not produce greenhouse gases.
